Octus and Quantum projects include 60% energy savings through a smart lighting project for a hospitality chain, which is expected to generate projected annual savings 231,191kWh and a carbon reduction of 162.5 metric tons; and 67% energy savings through a smart lighting project for a retail shopping mall, resulting in a 93% ROI, a payback period of 1.1 years, annual savings 231,778kWh, and a carbon of 162.5 metric tons.
The other two projects include 56% energy savings through a smart lighting project for a church and school, resulting in a 1.4-year payback, annual savings of 58,068kWh, and a carbon reduction of 40.82 metric tons; and a smart energy project for a national hospitality chain employing multiple measures and a rebate from a local utility company, generating 53% ROI and a simple payback period of 1.9 years.

On October 4, 2009, Octus and Quantum announced a joint venture to commercialize Octus’s proprietary Smart Energy Platform (OctusSEP) and collaboratively pursue a deep pipeline of energy-efficiency and alternative energy projects. The four smart energy projects represent the initial collaborative engagements between Octus and Quantum.
