The mine entrance was illegally blockaded by union activists and the action is preventing all mining and milling activities at the mine.

As a consequence of the blockade and the associated industrial action Nyrstar has taken the decision to withdraw employees from the site for their safety and temporarily suspend mining and milling operations. Certain activities related to site maintenance, environmental safeguards and site security will continue during the suspension.

Nyrstar is continuing its dialogue with the local and federal CTM Union and other stakeholders to reach a satisfactory conclusion.

The suspension will have an impact on Q4 2014 mining production volumes and the Company cannot at this stage advise when exactly the temporary suspension of operations will end.

Campo Morado produced approx. 19,000 tonnes of zinc in concentrate in the first nine months of 2014.
