NXP Semiconductors Netherlands B.V. (NXP) said that its complete DVB-S2/MPEG-4 digital video recorder (DVR) set-top box (STB) solution has been incorporated in the new DRX780UK HD satellite receiver of Amstrad plc (Amstrad). Amstrad has selected NXP’s high-definition H.264 chipset with DVB-S2 satellite front ends to deliver advanced quality recording and playback functionality for Sky+HD customers.

They increasingly expect access to a wide range of broadcast HD channels alongside the control and flexibility of time-shifting and on-demand services.
