NWND expects to modernize the plant to reduce processing costs and to retrofit the plant to process less expensive feed stocks such as algae and Jatropha. Currently, nearly 70% of oil used in the United States is imported. Congress indicated strong support for the development of renewable, green fuels in America.

NWND has said that it will seek to expand operations into other states by building on this initial technology platform in months ahead.
