Under the terms of the agreement, Pattern Energy Group will acquire ownership interests in the 200MW Post Rock wind facility in Kansas, which features 134 1.5MW GE turbines and the 150MW Lost Creek wind facility in Missouri which comprises 100 1.5MW GE turbines.

Power generated from the Post Rock Wind and Lost Creek Wind will be sold to Westar and Associated Electric respectively, under power purchase agreements.

The average remaining life of the contracts is 17 years, the company said.

Expected to close within 60-90 days, the transactions are subject to regulatory approvals and certain commercial consents.

NTR CEO Rosheen McGuckian said: "Pattern Energy was the successful bidder following an extensive auction process which had garnered significant interest due to the outstanding quality of these operating wind assets."

Independent power company Pattern Energy Group has a portfolio of 15 wind power facilities, including three projects it has agreed to acquire, with a total owned interest of 1,996MW, in the US, Canada and Chile.
