Earnings per share for the first quarter of 2008 increased $0.10, or 22%, compared to the same period in 2007. Factors that contributed to this increase include revenues related to the company’s transmission business and an improvement in earnings from non-utility operations.
Thomas May, chairman, president and CEO of NSTAR, said: Our performance in the first quarter provides a solid start for the year. We maintain our commitment to deliver superior service to customers and excellent results to shareholders. We are committed to investing in our infrastructure to ensure that we maintain high reliability and we’re working hard to keep our costs at the lowest level possible.
