ADTech, which will be 51% owned by NSK and 49% by Toshiba, will combine NSK’s experience in electronic, mechanical, and other in-car safety technologies with Toshiba’s electronics and software technologies to manufacture electric power steering.
The new joint venture company, employing approximately 60 workforces, will develop compact electrically-power assisted steering systems designed to offer safety and reliability, and to reduce the EVs’ power requirements.
NSK and Toshiba have formed the joint venture to explore the market and to accommodate the fundamental changes in automotive steering field in support of the global transition to electric and hybrid vehicles.
