The hole intersected bedrock, featuring mostly semi-pelite gneiss, calc-silicate gneiss and calcareous arkose, at a down hole depth of 26m.
Drilling intersected hydrothermal alteration zones from 327.9m to 334.5m and from 334.5m to 338.4m.
Both of the hydrothermal zones included strong hematitic limonite alteration and were associated with anomalous radioactivity.
A 1m interval from 330.1m downhole averaged 730 counts per second (cps) with a down hole gamma probe. A 0.75m interval from 334.8m averaged 579 cps.
Northern Uranium is drilling the next hole 60m along strike to test the mineralization below MG15DD-0014 hole as the increasing radioactivity found in MG15DD-0016 hole suggests the drilling is going ahead towards a more mineralized source.
The second hole is drilling another anomaly and is currently at 303m depth.
Northern Uranium, which owns 50% stake in the project can earn up to an 80% stake from CanAlaska Uranium.
Located in northwest Manitoba just east of the border of northeast Saskatchewan, the project is 70km north of Reindeer Lake and covers 143,603ha.
It has same geology to areas which include the Rabbit Lake, Collins Bay and Eagle Point uranium mines 90km to the South West.
