In addition to commissioning, the contract also covers a 20-year premium service to the site located in northwestern Maryland.

Nordex said that its Generation Gamma N100/2500 turbine, which is certified for IEC 2 sites, promises an optimum yield for the project.

Earlier in 2012, Nordex has provided 34 of its N117/2400 turbines for the Beebe wind project in Michigan for Exelon Wind. Further, the company will supply 21 identical turbines for the second phase of the Beebe project.

Nordex management board member Lars Bondo Krogsgaard said, "This marks a success for our wind power technology and the Nordex team in the United States.

"I am pleased that we have been able to score again in the Northern American market with another order for our customer Exelon Wind."
