Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has secured a contract from VenSol Neue Energien and Honold Windkraftanlagen to supply ten turbines for the Zöschingen wind farm in Germany.

Nordex will deliver the N117/2400 onshore turbines for the Zöschingen wind farm, which has an installed capacity of 24MW, located in the north-west of the shire of Dillingen.

The N117/2014 has the rotor blades measuring about 60m in length and is to go into series production in late 2012.

The customer commenced work on the wind project in mid-March, and is scheduled for completion by the end of the year.

The ten 2.4MW turbines will be generating enough energy to supply around 15,000 homes, an equivalent to around one third of power consumption in the entire shire.
