Under the contract, Nordex will supply 43 N100/2500 turbines for the Thunder Spirit wind power project, which has been qualified under the applicable production tax credit system.
Power generated from the wind farm will be sold to a regional utility under a power purchase agreement.
The deal also includes a service contract for a period of at least five years.
The turbines are expected to generate an annual electricity of up to 426GWh to meet the needs of over 39,000 local homes.
Work on the wind farm’s infrastructure is underway and Nordex plans to deliver the initial turbines in mid-August 2015 with towers starting end of July 2015.
Originally developed by Wind Works Power, the project was sold to ACE Wind, a subsidiary of ALLETE Clean Energy (ACE), for about $27m.
ACE will construct the project and sell it under contract to Montana Dakota Utilities.
The wind farm will be connected to the grid and will enter service in December 2015.
