The technology enables operators to have better insight into grid health in order to customize measurement solutions to meet their specific and evolving needs.
The CompactRIO was used by National Grid UK to design its own custom measurement system for hardware and is also being used to measure, collate and analyze power quality on the UK transmission network.
National Grid UK senior power systems engineer Peter Haigh said: "However, by choosing the CompactRIO platform solution from NI, we are able to deliver what we need now and what we don’t yet know that we need in the future."
