THE NATIONAL HYDROPOWER ASSOCIATION'S (NHA) annual conference is to take place from 25–28 April in Washington DC, US.

Topics under the spotlight are to include incentives for upgrades and development; mandatory conditions and energy legislation; electricity reliability; R&D initiatives; collaboration and negotiation techniques; dam removal and decommissioning.
For three days, delegates will be able to get up to speed on ways of dealing with the changing hydro power market with practical sessions on adaptive management; land management and project boundaries; compliance tracking and working with tribes.
Linda Church Ciocci, NHA executive director said: ‘The conference affords hydro professionals an opportunity to come together to learn how pending energy legislation will affect their projects, discuss how well the new FERC relicensing rule is working, learn more about the hydrogen economy and its ramifications for hydro, and share management information with other project managers.’
