The company has taken the interest in the project through the acquisition of a majority ownership of Viet Hydro.
Nexif Energy founder and co-CEO Surender Singh said: "Hydroelectric power is one of the most economical sources of electrical energy in Vietnam.

Coc San is a run-of-the-river hydro power project situated in the Hong (Red) River tributary Dum River Valley.
According to the company, the project is in an advanced stage of construction and expected to produce electricity by March this year.
Nexif Energy another founder and co-CEO Matthew Bartley said: "We are committed to our goal of becoming a leading regional independent power generation company and are currently reviewing other investment opportunities in the country as well as the Southeast Asia region that would build on this initial investment."
Singapore-based independent power management company Nexif, along with private equity firm Denham Capital, has established Nexif Energy last August.
