Earlier Boothby served as president on February 5, 2009. Boothby succeeds David A. Trice who retired as CEO and was re-elected as a director and will serve a one-year term as non-executive chairman of the board

Lee K. Boothby
Boothby joined the company nearly 10 years ago and before the role of president in February 2009 he served as senior vice president (SVP), acquisitions and business development. Earlier to this role, he served as president of Newfield Exploration’s mid-continent division from February 2002 to October 2007. The mid-continent division, situated in Tulsa, Okla. Boothby’s leadership is most evident in the success of the Woodford Shale play,
Gary D. Packer:
Packer joined Newfield Exploration’s in 1995 and most recently held the role of President of its Rocky Mountain division in Denver. He had served in this role since Newfield’s acquisition of Inland Resources in 2004. Packer led the company’s second largest division, more than tripling production and reserves.
Terry W. Rathert
Prior to this promotion, Rathert held the position of a SVP and chief financial officer ever since 1994 and also served as secretary of Newfield Exploration’s until May 2008. Rathert is a founding member of the company.
Daryll T. Howard
Prior to this promotion, Howard had served as East Team Rocky Mountain Asset manager since June 2008. Previously, he supported in establishing Newfield Exploration’s Malaysia office and the growth of the company’s international operations. Before this, he served the roles of increasing responsibility in Newfield Exploration’s Gulf of Mexico organization. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University.
Samuel E. Langford
Samuel E. Langford was promoted to VP, corporate development. Earlier to this promotion, he held the position of manager – acquisitions, planning and commercial development of Newfield Exploration’s mid-continent division. He received B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Auburn.
