Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation has won a contract to equip the Caojie hydro power project in Chonqing province, China.
The US$61.5M order is for the supply of four vertical Kaplan turbines, each with an output of 128MW.
Caojie hydro power project is situated on Jialing river, and its commissioning is scheduled for the year 2010.
The client is Chongqing Shipping Construction & Development Company, whose main business covers waterway projects and electric generation in major rivers, as well as key ports and wharfs.
