A new small hydropower plant utilizing water from the River Thames has been successfully commissioned in the village of Sonning, England.

A new small hydropower plant utilizing water from the River Thames has been successfully commissioned in the village of Sonning, England.

Developed by Pridewater Estates, the project was completed in January following a seven-month construction period, with the official opening ceremony held on 18 May.

Featuring an Archimedes Screw, the project was built by principal contractors Greenford Ltd. It is feeding electricity direct to the National Grid.
