The company will be installing approximately 32,850 feet of new main in this area, replacing water main that was installed around the 1920s with new ductile iron main.
Beginning this week in Voorhees, New Jersey American Water's qualified contractor South State will begin working along the following streets:

Sunset Drive, from Cornell Drive to Penn Road
Penn Road, from Northgate Drive to Tulane Avenue
Work has already begun and will continue throughout the fall in Oaklyn. New Jersey American Water's qualified contractor Pioneer Pipe will be working on the following streets:

"By coordinating these projects closely with the Borough of Oaklyn and Voorhees Township, we are looking forward to making these critical investments," stated Dave Forcinito, senior director of Southwest Operations. "By proactively upgrading aging infrastructure, we are continuing our commitment to ensuring quality and service for our customers."
Construction is expected to be completed by March 31, 2018 with final street restoration being completed in the spring of 2018. New Jersey American Water values the safety of its workers and advises drivers and pedestrians to take caution in the vicinity of work sites.
Forcinito added these improvements are part of New Jersey American Water's multimillion-dollar program to accelerate the renewal of water infrastructure that is reaching the end of its useful life in more than 100 communities across the state.
