Him Urja Pvt (HUL), an independent power producer, owned by Delhi-based MG Group, is setting up a 25MW hydro power project on the Mandakini river, near Nandprayag, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, northern India.
After approving the private development of small hydro projects by the state government in 1995-96, Uttar Pradesh government signed 28 memoranda of understanding with private players to develop various hydro projects.
