The company, which is working with its consortium partner SeaSpire Advisors, has signed a letter of intent with the Government of Sindh, to build a 200MW solar and 100MW wind projects in the region.

NGPI International operations and growth president Nisha Joshi said: "We believe these projects demonstrate our growing brand awareness in Pakistan, while showcasing the viability of renewable energy projects in the region."

The projects will be developed on a build, own and operate (BOO) basis, and are part of NGPI’s efforts to explore and promote Pakistan’s renewable energies and energy efficiency.

Sindh Government secretary energy Agha Wasif Abbas said: "These projects will provide direct and indirect benefits to our economy in addition to establishing a renewable energy industry including transfer of technology and other peripheral economic activities."

The company plans to approach overseas private sources, to finance the projects.

Feasibility studies conducted earlier showed that Jamshoro Sindh solar project has strong potential.

NGPI and SeaSpire Advisors are currently working on further due diligence and feasibility and technical studies for the projects.
