Canadian Hydro Developers (CHD) of Alberta, Canada expect to construct and commission the 30MW Pingston hydroelectric plant near Revelstoke in British Columbia by mid 2002. The plant was originally conceived and permitted as a 25MW plant but CHD sought and received approval from British Columbia’s Utility Commission to expand the plant to 30MW.

CHD is also proceeding with the regulatory process for the Dunvegan hydroelectric plant, to be built on the Peace river in northern Alberta. Here again CHD has increased the original design capacity for this plant from 40MW to 80MW. Assuming that all regulatory approvals are received during 2001, construction of the plant is expected to commence in 2002 and be completed during 2003.
