Nesma Electric has secured a contract from Saudi Electricity Company to build a substation at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia.

The Jeddah-based engineering and contracting company for power transmission and distribution field, Nesma Electric, will set up a 110/13.8kV substation known as Kaust-2 at the university.

Nesma Electric deputy general manager Salah Al-Sunaid said, "At Nesma electric quality objectives and business objectives are synonyms."

The Kaust-2 substation project is on fast track and is very critical.

The project is being financed by Saudi Arabia-based oil and natural gas company Saudi Aramco and is supervised by Saudi Electricity Company.

The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology is a public research university built and operated for the first three years by Saudi Aramco.
