National Semiconductor Corporation (National Semiconductor) has promoted Julie Wong to the position of vice president (VP) and chief information officer (CIO). Formerly company’s director of information services (IS), Wong will be responsible for all aspects of IS including managing effective operation of day-to-day systems and developing and executing future system strategies and innovations. She joined the company in 1988.

Wong has held various management roles and been recognized for her leadership in implementation of Finance, HR, manufacturing and purchasing solutions.

Wong has established strategies and roadmaps for simplified and integrated IS tools, applications platforms, and reliable and scalable infrastructure services. Wong’s efforts support pricing strategy, business intelligence solutions, innovative pipeline management, and company’s SolarMagic technology. The organization was recognized by InformationWeek in 2008 when it named National Semiconductor the most innovative technology organization in the US.

Wong attended Golden Gate University where she received a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Before working at National Semiconductor, she held financial positions at Coopers & Lybrand and various IT positions at General Electric Company.
