The company’s landfill gas operation was maintained under its wholly owned subsidiary Horizon LFG, which owned and operated seven short-distance landfill gas pipeline companies.

National Fuel chairman and CEO David Smith said that with the sale of its landfill gas business, the company continues to make progress on the strategy of divesting its smaller, non-core assets.

National Fuel is an integrated energy company with $4.9bn in assets distributed among four operating segments including exploration and production, pipeline and storage, utility and energy marketing.
