The deal marks the fourth contract Thirau Ltée has been awarded as part of the large-scale Romaine hydroelectric complex development on Quebec’s north shore in Canada.
It allows Thirau to go ahead with the construction of the Western section of the 735kV electricity transmission line connecting the Montagnais substation to the Romaine 4 generating station.
The 120km section extends from the Montagnais substation to pylon 271. Work, which is expected to start soon, is planned to be completed by December 2016.

Hydro-Québec Production secured the required approvals to construct a 1,550MW hydroelectric complex on the Rivière Romaine, north of the municipality of Havre-Saint-Pierre on the north shore of the St. Lawrence.
The complex will feature four hydropower generating stations with average annual output of 8 TWh.
The Romaine project is expected to generate about $3.5bn of economic benefits for Québec as a whole and $1.3bn for the Côte-Nord region.
