Dry polymer products will be produced by the 300,000ft² facility for use in removing contaminants from wastewater, increasing production efficiency in the paper industry and recovering minerals in the mining industry.
The dry polymer plant’s construction is expected to be completed in December 2012,, and will increase facility space at the Garyville complex to one million square feet.
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal said, "Ecolab decided to reinvest in Louisiana because of the track record of production success the company has had in St John the Baptist Parish."
The Garyville complex now includes about 220-acres and produces industrial water treatment products, such as corrosion and scale inhibitors, used in boilers and cooling towers; wastewater treatment products; and process chemicals used in the papermaking, mining, petroleum, steel, power generation, food and beverage, metalworking and aluminum refining industries.
