Deutsche Bank, Natixis and Nedbank have been asked to arrange and underwrite a senior secured term loan facility.
Gahcho Kué is a joint venture between De Beers Canada and Mountain Province with 51% and 49% stakes respectively.
The project comprises a cluster of four diamondiferous kimberlites with three of them hosting a probable mineral reserve of 35.4 million tons grading 1.57 carats per ton for total diamond content of 55.5 million carats.
Mountain Province said: "As at the end of June 2014, the overall project was progressing according to plan and remains on schedule for first production during H2 2016."
The company is funding its share of the capital and has arranged the equity as per the planned capital commitments this year. It is being advised by UK-based Rockface Capital.
