Brazil's federal government has asked the state environmental authority Fepam, in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, to conduct additional studies before licensing the 77MW Passo São João and 51MW Passo São José hydroelectric power projects.
The two plants have been included in the shortlist for the end-of-year future generation capacity auction. Combined investment in the two projects is expected to be over US$143M.
