The components of the automated process control system (APCS) for unit 1 of Belarus NPP has been delivered to the NPP by the All Russian Scientific & Research Institute for Nuclear Power Plant Operation (VNIIAES).

The components include the upper level of the monitoring and control of the water treatment system and the unit upper level system. The hardware components of the systems were made by Russia’s YY Sedakov Research Institute of Measuring Systems (NIIIS). At VNIIAES, these systems were interconnected; their software was installed and debugged. The software was domestically made. Test result showed the systems were "meeting the terms of reference". Commissioning of unit 1 is planned for November 2018 and unit 2 for July 2020.

Russia’s Power Machines has also shipped a batch of equipment for the turbine hall of unit 1 including a deaerator and low-pressure heat exchangers, the company said on 7 April. Power Machines has already supplied most of the turbine and heat-exchanging equipment for unit 1. The turbine generator is to be shipped in the second half of 2016. Manufacture of the turbine is underway and the condenser is nearing completion. The contract for manufacturing the essential equipment of the turbine hall of Belarus plant was concluded in 2012. Commissioning of Unit 1 is planned from November 2018 and that for.

In late March, hydraulic testing of VVER-1200 reactor head for unit 1 took place at the Atommash works in Volgodonsk (managed by Russian engineering holding Atomenergomash. The tests confirmed strength and leak-tightness of the base metal and welding joints of the reactor head. Its service life is 60 years.

Assembly of the reactor internals for unit 1 was also completed at the Atommash site in March, Atomenergomash said in a statement. In October 2015, Atomenergomash completed the RPV and shipped it to the construction site in Belarus.
