The US Bureau of Reclamation is performing modifications to the spillway outlet structure at Virginia Smith dam, located in central Nebraska, US.

Expected to be completed in early October, the modifications are related to the drain system in the spillway outlet structure, and will be similar to those performed on the structure in 2003.

The work will allow the continued safe operation of the dam, and are not expected to impact operation of the facility or access to Calamus reservoir.
