Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas (MPSA), a US-based subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries(MHI), has completed a gas turbine combustor manufacturing plant near Savannah in the US state of Georgia.

The company has commenced full-scale operation at the facility, and the move marks the first launch of production at one of several facilities being constructed by MPSA at its new Savannah Machinery Works site.

MPSA is now constructing two other plants which will undertake gas and steam turbine rotor servicing and gas turbine assembly.

The company will operate various plants being built at MHI’s 500,000 square feet Savannah Machinery Works site.

MHI said that with completion of the new gas turbine combustor plant, it now looks to further expand its power systems business in North America.
