According to Mirion Technologies, the gamma monitors, from its MGP Instruments product line, will be connected through the containment wall via a high integrity electrical penetration supplied by the Mirion Technologies’s sensing systems division. The entire system is designed to operate over a high range of conditions, said Mirion.
Jean-Louis Gouronc, president of Mirion’s radiation monitoring systems division, said: “We are delighted to have been selected by Vattenfall to deliver these critical systems to Ringhals. Mirion will continue to offer integrated services to meet clients’ requirements.”
Earlier in November 2008, Mirion Technologies radiation monitoring systems division announced a contract award by Westinghouse Electric, Germany to supply radiation monitoring systems equipment for the Philippsburg 1 Nuclear Power Plant in southwestern Germany.
The Particulate, Iodine and Noble Gas Monitors and associated signal processing electronics from Mirion’s MGPI-H&B product line provide critical process and event monitoring information necessary for the safe operation of the plant.
Mirion Technologies is engaged in radiation detection, measuring and monitoring. Headquartered in the San Francisco Bay area, the company has 13 facilities in Europe, Asia, and North America and is a portfolio company of American Capital.
