Scope of the project includes construction of a 250-mile high-voltage power transmission line from central North Dakota to the city of Grand Forks, US.

Aconex’s online collaboration platform will help the utility to manage, track and share large amounts of files and data among team members working at various locations.

The CGF Project, currently under construction, is expected to meet Minnkota’s obligations as a transmission services provider for grid reliability.

In addition, the project is also anticipated to address a need to increase voltage support in the northern Red River Valley region.

Minnkota CGF project manager Mike Hennes remarked that the five-year project is both "large and complex, with aggressive deadlines".

"This new transmission line will meet the long-term power load requirements of a steadily growing region and improve reliability for our customers," said Hennes.

"Aconex will help us stay on schedule with real-time, centralized access to all project documentation, which will improve the flow of information and enable faster decision making."

Minnkota Power serves over 130,000 customers, and covers 34,500 square miles in northwestern Minnesota and eastern North Dakota.
