Prior to this, Mr Forstner served as president of Huber Technology, North America, a company providing wastewater systems and generating $150m annual revenue.
Mr Forstner, who is also a member of the Water Environment Federation, is expected to bring to MMF, his wastewater, engineering and sales experience.
MicroMedia Filtration supplies its treatment process and energy conversion system to municipalities, wastewater treatment authorities, governmental agencies and developers.
MMF system operates by converting the solids removed from wastewater into renewable electricity using three components: the MMF solids separator which removes suspended solids from the raw influent, the MMF modular filter, an automated, cleaning media filtration system with remote monitoring and control capabilities, and the MMF energy conversion system that transforms the removed solids into energy end products.
Mr Forstner said: “MMF is well positioned to take advantage of the opportunity in the wastewater and renewable energy space created by water scarcity, ever increasing energy costs and a renewed focus on renewable energy.
“I am extremely excited to be part of a company focused on delivering cost-effective, green wastewater treatment solutions.”
