Under the terms of the MOU, MHPS will provide O&M support and related services for the power plants owned by Uzbekenergo.

The agreement is a part of ongoing joint economic talks between Uzbekistan and Japan, which aims to boost bilateral trade and economic development.

The MOU will focus on three areas including power plant’s O&M, technical training of engineers, and organization of technical seminars.

MHPS be responsible for O&M support for two Navoi and Talimarjan power plants and a cogeneration plant Tashkent, for which the company has previously supplied gas turbines and other core equipment.

Additionally, MHPS will provide technical training to Uzbekenergo’s engineers in both Uzbekistan and Japan.

State-operated power provider Uzbekenergo focuses on three core fuel sources such as coal, petroleum and natural gas, and generates a total of 48 million MW of power per year.

Uzbekenergo, under its corporate umbrella, operates 53 subsidiaries and organizations.
