Under the contract awarded through bidding process, MHIEC will construct a stoker furnace type incineration plant with a processing capacity of 240 tons per day (tpd) as well as provide services for a period of 15 years.
The plant, which will be located in the district of Kaminoshimamachi, is expected to be commissioned by October 2016.
The plant will feature two 120tpd stoker furnaces and will replace the outmoded 400tpd processing capacity west incineration plant that MHI previously built in the Kibachi-machi area of Nagasaki.
A joint venture formed by MHIEC, Fujita and Nishinihon Ryoju Estate will construct the plant, while Nagasaki Nishi Eco-Creation, jointly owned by MHIEC and Kyushu Jukan Operation, will operate the facility.
A group of eight Nagasaki-based companies will be established to promote close ties with the local business community with respect to the plant’s construction and operation.
