MHI Vestas Offshore Wind has been selected as preferred bidder following a competitive tender process.
The project will be commissioned in 2019 and the company says that it is expected to be the largest wind power plant in Belgium.
Norther NV is the owner of this project and it is a 50/50 joint venture of Dutch utility Eneco Group and Elicio NV.
MHI Vestas Offshore Wind CEO, Jens Tommerup said: "We are extremely pleased that following a competitive tender process Eneco and Elicio have chosen MHI Vestas Offshore Wind as the preferred supplier for the Norther project, which will be the largest offshore wind power plant in Belgium."

The project will be built in the Belgian North Sea, approximately 22km off the coast of Zeebrugge and after completion it will be able to produce clean energy, enough to meet the requirement of about 370,000 Belgian households.
This contribution will help Belgium in meeting its target to generate at least 13% of its energy needs through renewable sources by 2020.
