Headquartered in Aarhus, Denmark, the new JV consolidates the offshore wind power systems operations that have been recently separated from MHI and Vestas.
MHI Vestas Offshore Wind will perform a variety of functions relating to offshore wind turbines including development, design, procurement, manufacture, marketing and after-sale servicing.
Initially, the company will operate business around Vestas’ current 3MW V112, a gear-type wind turbine, and a newly developed 8MW V164.
MHI Vestas Offshore Wind launches with 380 employees.
