Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has received an order for six M501G gas turbines from Florida Power & Light (FPL) for its West County Energy Center project in Florida.
The six turbines will be core components of two natural-gas-fired combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) units with a total capacity of 2,400 MW. Each unit will consist of three 250 MW gas turbines, a steam turbine and four generators.
The two units are planned to go on-line in June 2009 and June 2010, respectively.
