Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has received an order for three sets of LNG-fired gas turbine combined-cycle (GTCC) power plants with a combined capacity of 1,350 MW.

The three 450 MW systems will each inclune an M701G gas turbine, steam turbine, generator, heat recovery steam generator and air-cooled steam condenser. The plants will be installed at Morata de Tajuña, approximately 50 km south of Madrid.

The order comes from Morata Energia of Spain, a special purpose company set up by Electrabel. In addition to the supply of the CCGT equipment, MHI has also signed a long-term service agreement on plant maintenance. The power plant is scheduled to go on-stream in December 2009.
