Metso will supply biomass-fired boiler plant to dutch firm Eneco in Netherlands.

A consortium consisting of Areva Renewables, Metso Power Oy and Dutch Ballast Nedam Industriebouw will construct the EUR 155m power plant.

The plant will be able to supply green electricity to meet the needs of 120,000 households saving CO2 emissions of some 250,000 tons annually.

Metso will deliver a 49 MW biomass-fired boiler plant, a flue gas cleaning plant and stack, a feedwater system and a distributed control system.

The boiler will utilize circulating fluidized bed technology and use recycled wood as fuel.

The new plant is scheduled to start its operations in the third quarter of 2013.
