The first batch of laboratory assay results showed surface graphite intersection of 145.59m at the rate of 9.6% total graphitic content (TGC) and 0.12% Vanadium from 34m in drill hole 007 at the Buffalo prospect.
The drill hole yielded high-grade graphite mineralization and remains open in all directions, the company said.
Drill hole 009 in the southern zone intersected over 45m at the rate of 7.15% TGC and drill hole 001 in the central zone returned more than 4% TGC over 49m from 41m.
Metals of Africa managing director Cherie Leeden said: "The enriched and extensive oxide zone within the project is of particular interest and we look forward to recommencing drilling as soon as weather permits."
The remaining 18 drill holes will be logged and samples will be sent to laboratory for analysis inthe second quarter, the company said.
After the drill program was completed, the company identified a new VTEM anomaly in the western zone.
Said to be the strongest identified at the Montepuez project so far, the anomaly will be tested in the next drill program.
