With a maximum throughput capacity of 7mmtpa, the oil pipeline will be laid from both sides at the same time for a total length of 96.5km.
The oil transportation is scheduled to commence in late 2016 following commissioning of the Vostochno-Messoyakhskoe field. The Messoyakha field cluster comprises the Vostochno-Messoyakhskoe and Zapadno-Messoyakhskoe fields.
A preliminary agreement has also been signed with subsoil user for oil transfer by the Zapolyarye-Purpe system with Transneft.
The pipeline project is expected to enhance the impact on the polar environment and warrant safe and reliable operation of the oil transportation system in the harsh climate.
CJSC Messoyakhaneftegaz, which is controlled by Gazprom Neft and Rosneft on a parity basis, owns the licenses for field exploration and development.
