A subsidiary of McDermott International has secured a contract valued at more than $50m from PEMEX Exploracion y Produccion for procurement, construction and installation of pipelines in Mexico's Bay of Campeche.

The company will install three oil and gas pipelines ranging from eight to 20 inches in diameter.

The installation work will be performed by McDermott’s DB16 vessel, with completion expected by the end of 2011, and the field development in the Gulf of Mexico sits in about 170ft of water.

The pipelines will run from the Kambesah Wells Recoverer Structure to the Kutz TA platform and the Ixtoc-A platform.

The pipeline installation engineering is expected to begin in the second quarter of this year.
