The switching frequency (200 kHz to 2MHz), external compensation network, and current limit can also be adjusted to optimize designs for space, performance, and cost.

Concurrently, it is cost effective enough to be used in set-top-box and power-module applications.

The MAX15026 uses cycle-by-cycle lossless current sensing to reduce power loss and eliminate the need for an external sense resistor. Other features include soft-start, an analog-enable input, and a power-good indicator. The device also allows monotonic startup into a prebiased bus without discharging the output.

The MAX15026 is offered in a thermally enhanced, 3mm x 3mm, 14-pin TDFN package, and is fully specified over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range. Prices start at $1.10 (1000-up, FOB USA). An evaluation kit is available to speed designs.
