Construction of the power line from Berwick in Pennsylvania to Roseland in New Jersey is expected to begin in late 2012 and complete in 2015.

The 146 miles long transmission line project is under taken by PPL Electric Utilities in Pennsylvania and Public Service Electric and Gas in New Jersey.

The $1.2bn project, which has recently got approval from National Park Service, is likely to save consumers about $200m per year by relieving congestion that currently exists on the power grid.

MasTec said it will provide further details during its 3rd quarter conference call, scheduled for 2 November 2012.
