Under the agreement, Marubeni will pay to Dong Energy a cash consideration of about GBP200m for the acquisition in Gunfleet Sands.

The transaction is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of this year.

Under a long-term arrangement, Dong Energy has agreed to provide operations and maintenance services to the wind project, located in the Thames Estuary off the Essex coast.

The parties have also agreed a long-term purchase agreement for the power production and green certificates arising from Marubeni’s share of wind farm.

The companies said wind project delivers green power corresponding to the annual power consumption of some 125,000 British households.

The transmission assets have been sold as part of the general tender process initiated by the UK regulator, Ofgem.
