Located in the Atacama Desert, which has the highest level of irradiation in the world, the project is being developed as part of the Chilean government’s aim to generate 20% of the total power generated in the country from renewable energies by 2025.
Equally owned by EDF Energies Nouvelles and Marubeni, the Laberinto project will be connected to Chile’s Northern Interconnected System.
EDF Energies Nouvelles has portfolio of more than 10,000 MW (gross) of renewable power plants which include developed, built and commissioned.
The project marks the third joint project between Marubeni and EDF Energies Nouvelles, with the first two located in the North American region.
Total generation capacity of Marubeni will be 35,434MW (gross) and 11,022MW (net), upon completion of the solar power plant.
