Marathon Petroleum Norge, the Norwegian arm of Marathon Oil Corp, has resumed production at the Alvheim and Volund fields, offshore Norway.

Production from the fields was shut down for 13 days in May due to unscheduled maintenance on the Alvheim floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.

The shut down was required in order to carry out preventative maintenance works on the fire prevention system of the vessel.

According to Lundin Petroleum, a Swedish oil and gas firm, the Alvheim FPSO has now resumed normal operations.

Lundin Petroleum holds a 15% working interest in the Alvheim field and a 35% working interest in the Volund field.
