Hydro power production from the Manantali dam will soon be distributed to Mali, Senegal and Mauritania
Mali will be the first country to receive hydro power generated from the Manantali dam in Mali. The project is under the control of the Organisation for the Development of the Senegal River (OMVS) which was formed by Mali, Senegal and Mauritania in 1979.
Mali is set to start receiving hydro power from the Manantali dam in August 2001. Senegal and Mauritania will receive electricity from the project in 2002.
